A. Pre Activities

Greetings and asked about the students’ condition.

Greetings and responding.

Checking the students’ presence

Students responded by raising hands or answering  the teacher’s  calling when their names were called.

The teacher wrote the topic would be discussed on the board. The topic was “ Wh- Question”.The teacher stated the objective  of the learning at that time.

3.       When…kapan

4.       Why….mengapa

5.       Where..dimana

The students began to pay attention to the teaching materials.

B. Main Activities

The teacher explained the meaning of the “wh-questions’ by  asking the students first what was the meaning of each ‘wh-questions’ such as what, where, which, when, etc

Some students answered the teacher’s questions.

The teacher asked the students  to pronounce aloud the words after her.

The students pronounced all the words after the teacher.

The teacher wrote some examples of  the application of  wh- questions  in sentences.

1.       What happened?                Donny got an accident.

2.       How did it happen?             It happened  very quickly.

3.       When did it happen?           It happened  two hours ago.

4.       Where did it happen?          It happened in the workshop.

5.        Why did it happen?            It happened because he was careless.

The students  looked at the teacher’ s explanation, some students were busy talking.

The  teacher asked the students to read aloud the sentences and translated each meaning of the sentences.

The students read aloud the sentences after the teacher and translated their  meaning.

The teacher gave  an exercise of wh questions in the form of  completion.

Fill in the blank with the correct  question words,

3.       ….didn’t  you go to work yesterday?                              I was sick

The students wrote the exercises on their note book.

The teacher and the students discussed the answers one by one. The  students who wrote down the answers on the board  were given  a score.

Some students came forward to write the answers.

The  teacher  gave   another  exercise. The teacher  wrote it on the board.  The exercise was  ‘Matching’.

The students wrote the exercise and tried to answer it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The  teacher  walked around the class.  The teacher  gave  some direction and guidance  in answering the exercise  to the students who got some difficulties (giving an  individual attention).

The students asked the teacher about some problems they had in learning.

The teacher gave an opportunity for the students to answer the exercise by writing it on the board.

Some students came forward to write the answers.

At last, the teacher  and the students discussed the correct answers.

The students along with the teacher discussed the correct answers.

C. Closing

 

The teacher checked the students understanding about wh-questions  by  question and answer.

Some students responded the teacher’s question orally.

The teacher  said ‘good bye’  as the time was over.

The  students responded.

Conclusion

The students evaluated the students in form of written exercises. The students’ participation was also evaluated in term of coming forward to do the exercise.

Moreover, the teacher also checked the students’ understanding about what they had been learned through delivering question and answer orally. The students who answered the questions were given a score.

The  class was not too crowded, and the interaction between the teacher-the students were good enough. The teacher did not give a homework to the students as the  follow –up activity.
